September Round-up: Nurturing Growth 🌱

September has been a wonderful month for our Nurturing Growth group, filled with friendship, movement, music and plenty of moments that made us smile.

We began the month with a heart-warming visit to Abbeyfields, where residents joined us for a cheerful sing-along. The room was full of music, colour and chatter – a gentle reminder of how uplifting it can be simply to share songs and time together. Thank you to everyone who supported the session and helped make it such a special morning.

A little later in the month, we headed out for a lovely walk through Skipton, taking in the sights of town before exploring the museum at Skipton Town Hall. The group enjoyed reminiscing, discovering new stories, and sharing memories sparked by the exhibits. Afterwards, we rounded off the day with another joyful sing-along, complete with laughter, good conversation and a relaxing yoga session to wind down. It was a perfect balance of activity and calm.

We ended September on another high with a short walk to visit our beautiful Weeping Willow, followed by a visit to the Dementia Hub. Over 40 people joined in with our sing-along there – and this time, our audience even helped us out with the singing! The feedback was incredibly touching, and we’re already looking forward to returning soon.

Thank you to all our volunteers, participants and partners who continue to make these weekly moments so meaningful. Here’s to more walks, more music and more growth as autumn begins.
