July & August Round Up: Step Into Action Wellbeing Hub & Cafe ☕

We can’t believe how quickly the summer has flown by! July and August have been a busy couple of months for our Well-being Hub & Café, with new faces joining us each week alongside our regular guests. It’s been wonderful to make use of the courtyard in the sunshine, and to see our community continue to grow.

We also said a very fond farewell to our wonderful volunteer Andrew in July. We celebrated his last café session with gifts, cake, and plenty of laughter. He’s heading off to exciting new things, and while we’ll really miss him, we’re so grateful for everything he contributed as part of our team.

Thanks to all of our amazing volunteers — and our guests who often step in to lend a hand — we’ve kept everything running smoothly. And of course, Alison has continued to delight us week after week with delicious meals.

As many of you know, our time at the Soroptimist Rooms has now come to an end, as the building is being sold. Our final café there was on Saturday 30th August, where we shared lots of delicious food made by chef Alison and her daughter Elle. We enjoyed a fabulous choice of Fish Pie, Cottage Pie with vegetables followed by chocolate sponge and chocolate custard! It was also lovely to share some special memories of our time together in the Soroptimist Rooms.

A huge thank you also goes to the Soroptimists for kindly hosting us for the past few years – we really appreciate their kindness.

Although we’re taking a short break in September, we’re delighted to have found a new home for the Wellbeing Hub & Cafe and we’ll be back in October in our new venue. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page for full details and updates.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us through this busy period. We can’t wait for the next part of our journey together!
