June round-up: Nurturing Growth 🌱

From canal walks to community sing-alongs, June was a month full of connection, creativity, and celebration.

June brought a wonderful mix of sunshine, showers, and smiles for our Nurturing Growth project.

We started the month with a warm welcome at Gargrave Bowling Club. We were treated to coffee, cake, and a few rounds on the green (dodging the rain clouds!). The friendly team made it a memorable visit, so we hope to return again soon.

During Volunteers’ Week, we celebrated the amazing contributions of our volunteers at the hub. Cards were handed out and a group photo was taken (although not everyone could be there!). The room gave a round of applause for each volunteer, in recognition of the dedication and kindness they show week in, week out.

We’ve been out and about too – enjoying walks along the canal, pausing to take in the wild meadows and summer blooms, and even making it back up to the park.

Our boat trip was a highlight, gliding along the water on a beautiful day, watching for wildlife. We rounded it all off with a joyful sing-along on the way back!

The outdoor area at Fisher Medical Centre continues to grow in charm. This month, we added more handmade mobiles to our special tree, and on sunnier days, we’ve taken our singing sessions outside.

We also visited the Dementia Hub at Skipton Rugby Club for a sing-along session. The feedback was incredibly moving. Music really does have the power to connect, and it was a privilege to share those moments with others in the community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this month. Here’s to more laughter, learning, and lovely days together.
