February Round-Up: Nurturing Growth 🌱

February was another mixed month weather-wise, and we did have to miss a couple of our walks due to the winter conditions. That said, we made the most of it by spending time indoors, enjoying plenty of coffee, conversation and good company.

One of the highlights this month was being invited back to Skipton Morrisons, where we sang love songs for Valentine’s Day. It was a really lovely visit and we raised £60 for SSIA – thank you to everyone who supported us!

We also welcomed researchers from Leeds University, who delivered a workshop exploring barriers to exercise. It sparked some really interesting discussions and activities, and everyone who took part received a £25 shopping voucher.

Another special moment this month was a visit from the King’s Award Inspectors. It was a great opportunity to share more about SSIA, with staff, Trustees and friends all coming together to reflect on the last six years. It was a really lovely afternoon – thank you so much for coming to visit us.

Overall, a slightly stop-start month with the weather, but still full of connection, activity and some really memorable moments.
