Step Into Action Wellbeing Hub & Cafe: October Highlights
Highlights of the month from Cafe Project Coordinator Hayley Stockwell: “As Autumn well and truly settled in, October was a busy month at the Wellbeing Hub & Cafe. We were treated to delicious meals prepared by Chef Alison and helped by our wonderful volunteers. We enjoyed hearty favourites such as cottage pie, roast chicken dinner, pasta and were fortunate enough to have some apples donated so we enjoyed a classic apple crumble – truly a month of being spoiled by wonderful food. As one cafe friend put it ‘full tummy, happy heart!’
The month also brought a change to our hours, with Wednesday evening sessions now held on the first Wednesday of each month only. Saturday afternoon though will of course continue as usual. For our Wednesday evening session we ‘travelled’ to Italy, for an evening all about Italy, fun facts and we enjoyed making individual pizzas and learning about Italy.
During our Saturday sessions, we explored monoprinting, we made some cute flowers from pipe cleaners and had lots of fun! Now, the cafe is already buzzing with excitement as we look forward to our upcoming Christmas Fair on November 23rd at the Soroptimists.
