SSIA is now the Community Anchor!

Skipton Step Into Action is delighted to have been selected to be the Community Anchor in Skipton by North Yorkshire Council in June 2023. Our role as Community Anchor means that:

• As always, we aim to be community led; to listen to the needs of the community and to work to address them and to amplify the voices of local people to help them shape and obtain the community services they need
• We will continue to collaborate with other local groups and communities to make sure that local people benefit from the collective strength of local community assets
• We will persist in our commitment to delivering a range of services that benefit the local community and tackle challenges; also acting as a gateway to other services and signposting people to the support they need
• Being run by local people for local people will continue to be a cornerstone of our organisation

As part of this role, SSIA will work closely with other local voluntary organisations, big and small, to share ideas and support development. SSIA will be hosting regular meetings for this in the near future.
