Nurturing Growth: November Highlights
Highlights of the month from Sarah Wilson, Nurturing Growth Coordinator: “There has been lots of festive fun at Nurturing Growth this month. Winter walks into Skipton Woods and visits to Craven court to look at the beautiful xmas decorations. We hosted our xmas fair with lots of homemade crafts and cakes raising money for our Wellbeing to provide hot meals for our friends of SSIA
Our Nurturing Growth singers attended Skipton Choir concerts at Skipton Town Hall and Holy Trinity to support our choir master David Weale and his 70 piece choir
One attendee said it was the best concert he had been to in a long time!
Visits to Woodlands at Abbeyfields to share a wonderful Christmas event singing carols with the residents. David Weale-Davey, Skipton Choir Master, said:
“It’s such a pleasure to be able to spread the joy of singing as a group, and to see how music can bring people of different generations together. I always leave feeling brighter and take that feeling with me for the rest of the day.” Anna Tosney, Activity Coordinator at Abbey Fields said “The Skipton Step into Action NG Singing group have been a wonderful part of our activities programme here at Woodlands for the past couple of years. They have been visiting us every few months and we have watched them grow and improve on each visit. We have made some great friendships, we sing and laugh together and everyone’s spirits are lifted. The residents absolutely love the visits and we are looking forward to more in 2025.”
We finished off the month with a group of 16 SSIA volunteers and friends coming together for a festive afternoon tea at AJBistro which was enjoyed by all
