March Highlights: Step Into Action Wellbeing Hub & Cafe ☕
From Project Coordinator Hayley Stockwell:
“March was a busy month at the Wellbeing Hub & Cafe! We had plenty of crafting fun, with guests getting creative making cards, colouring mandala pictures, painting and creating cute little ‘plant-pot people’ and some of us even tried our hand at air dry clay pot making! Phew! A huge thank you to the volunteers who made these sessions happen.
As always, the food was amazing on Saturday, with our lovely Chefs Alison and Dave, serving up delicious meals such as Roast Chicken Dinner, Veg Stew & Dumplings and also Pea Risotto. We were also incredibly fortunate for the generous donations from Morrisons Bakery every Saturday, which provides extra support for those who need it as well as helping with our meal delivery.
March was also a little sad, as we said goodbye to one of our lovely volunteers, Joanna, who is moving away. One of our other volunteers kindly made a card, which everyone signed, and we presented Joanna with gifts before sharing some delicious cake together. While we will miss her, we know she’ll drop by from time to time.
On our Wednesday Hub sessions, we received great feedback from our guests, and following on from that feedback we will start from the end April some informative and educational sessions around anxiety and sleep – so watch Facebook for more updates.”
