July Round-Up: Nurturing Growth 🌱
July brought sunshine, song, and plenty of laughter to Nurturing Growth, with 64 different people joining us over the month – including two new faces, who we were delighted to welcome into the group.
The hot weather didn’t slow us down. One particularly sunny morning saw us take a walk into Skipton Woods before gathering to try out lots of new songs together. Back indoors, we pored over the Craven Herald books borrowed from Skipton Library, sharing memories over a cuppa – and with the fans on full blast, yoga and seated dance carried on regardless, with plenty of relaxation and laughter along the way.
The highlight of the month, though, was a very special invitation. After our singing group’s video performance at Morrisons, we were asked to visit Carleton Court Nursing Home, and thirteen of our Nurturing Growth singers walked there and back to share the power of song with the residents. Seeing the residents joining in was a truly lovely moment, and one that captures what Nurturing Growth is all about: connection, confidence, and sharing a bit of joy in our community.
Alongside all the singing, walking, stretching and dancing, the group continued to offer practical support too, with Citizens Advice appointments available to those who needed them.
Thank you to everyone who came along in July – whether you walked, sang, danced, or simply enjoyed the company. Nurturing Growth wouldn’t be what it is without you.
