July Monthly Round-up: Step Into Action Wellbeing Hub and Cafe
Highlights of the month from project coordinator Hayley Stockwell:
“July was a month filled with lots of creativity and, of course, lots of delicious food. Our cafe friends enjoyed a variety of delicious food fostering a sense of community and togetherness. Wednesdays were particularly special, as the cafe (Chef Alison!) provided freshly baked scones with jam and cream, which prompted much debate around whether it’s jam or cream first!
One of the highlights of the month was our engaging activity of making refrigerator cake. Friends had a fantastic time crafting their own individual cakes, experimenting with their own ‘add ins’. The best part? Everyone got to take their goodies home, a lovely reminder of the shared fun.
In our creative sessions cafe friends explored their artistic sides through mandala colouring, making papier mache bowls and also the creation of personalised gratitude journals. The journals served as a tool for reflection, giving friends something meaningful to think about in their own time. Meals enjoyed on Saturday varied from Chicken roast dinner to Quiche and Salad.”
