January round up: Step Into Action Wellbeing Hub & Cafe

From Project Coordinator Hayley Stockwell: “We kicked off the year with a creative and reflective start by decorating our own journals and setting personal goals. At our Saturday Cafe, guests enjoyed delicious homemade food prepared by chef Alison, with the help of our wonderful volunteers. We enjoyed comforting dishes such as cottage pie, roast chicken dinner and peach cobbler, alongside a special ‘hot chocolate station’ complete with fresh cream, marshmallows and grated chocolate, just the thing to bring some extra cosiness during national ‘Warm and Well Week.’

We also got crafty making some decoupage glass jars, turning them into ‘Jars of Joy’ or ‘Gratitude Jars.’ The idea being for guests to fill them with notes about things that made them happy, creating a little jar of positivity to revisit in the future. 

Despite January often being seen as a long and gloomy month, we focused on great food, creative activities and plenty of warm welcoming moments.”
