Helens Story
Helen began attending our Well-being Hub & Cafe as a friend, when she needed support during a difficult time. The cafe became a place of comfort and connection for her.
“I still have bad days,” Helen says, “sometimes I dip… but I always know I’ve got this group. It’s nice to come and meet new people and talk to them, about anything really, whether it’s because you’re feeling down, or because you’ve got something nice and happy to share.”
Helen’s story is a testament to the power of community. Even when she’s dealing with pain, she makes the effort to attend because she knows the value of these connections. Over time, Helen’s involvement in the café grew, and she became a volunteer, sharing her love for crafting with others. Today, she occasionally leads crafting sessions, bringing joy to the group through her creativity and passion.
This story reminds us of the importance of spaces like ours, where people not only receive support but can also give back in meaningful ways.”
