August Monthly Round-up: Step Into Action Wellbeing Hub and Cafe
Highlights of the month from project coordinator Hayley Stockwell: “August was a busy and varied month at the cafe! We kicked things off by learning fascinating facts about Japan whilst sampling some unique snacks such as mochi. Our cafe friends fully embraced the snack-tasting party and enjoyed the interactive experience. We also hosted a fun and lighthearted quiz night, where everyone was pleasantly surprised by how much they knew!
Creativity was in full swing as our talented cafe friends and volunteers made beautiful bookmarks and also crafted lovely stencils in two of our hands-on sessions. Alongside all the creativity, we welcomed MIND for helpful one-on-one sessions for those who needed a chat along with regular support from our keyworker at Pioneer Projects, and a drop-in session from IDAS, who were on hand for guidance and support.
Plus, of course August was a month where we enjoyed some delicious food thanks to a wonderful team in the kitchen! We were lucky to have meals such as stroganoff, cottage pie, sausage and mash and of course the occasional yummy pudding such as apple crumble!”
