Another Successful Afternoon Tea! ☕
On Saturday 16th May, we brought together over 90 members of the local community at Skipton Town Hall for our annual Step Into Summer fundraiser, raising more than £790 for SSIA.
The afternoon tea event, which welcomed guests from six different community groups, was made possible through a partnership between SSIA volunteers and members of Skipton Craven Rotary Club, whose support was instrumental in hosting the occasion.
David Squire, for Skipton Craven Rotary, said: “Sadly our very successful partnership with Skipton Step into Action is coming to and end due to the closure of our Club. It has been a pleasure to have been involved with these Tea Parties since 2018, and I am delighted that SSIA have agreed to continue running them, hopefully with the support of some of our former members.“
Entertainment was provided by The Skipton Choir, whose performance was followed by a joyful singalong with guests. Skipton Town Hall staff also provided invaluable support on the day.
Funds were raised through ticket sales and a raffle, with generous prize donations from local businesses including Embsay Steam Railway, AJ Cafe Bistro, Complete Car, and Skipton Hotel.
